Copyright and Takedown Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026 · Contact: legal@notekit.net
What this policy covers
NoteKit is operated by Taweed Establishment (Saudi Arabia, Commercial Registration 7054836007). NoteKit lets you upload your own course PDFs and turns them into study kits. Your uploads are stored privately under your own account. They are not published, and they are not shared with other NoteKit users.
We still take copyright seriously. If you own a copyright and you believe material a NoteKit user has uploaded infringes it, this page tells you how to tell us, what we will do, and what the person who uploaded it can do in response.
This page is our notification mechanism under the Saudi Copyright Law issued by Royal Decree No. M/169 (in force since 12 August 2026) and Articles 83 to 85 of its Implementing Regulation. It is also our notice procedure under United States, European Union and United Kingdom law. Our Repeat Infringer Policy explains when we restrict or close accounts.
This policy applies alongside our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Nothing here limits any other right you have under the law that applies to you.
How to send a notice
The quickest way is our online notice form. You can also email the same details to legal@notekit.net, or post them to Taweed Establishment, EDDA2367, Al Hussam District, Dammam 34223, Saudi Arabia.
Your notice must include the following five items. A notice that contains all five is complete under Saudi law, and we act on it:
- Your name, your capacity (whether you are the rights holder, or are authorised to act for the rights holder, and if so for whom), your postal address and your email address. Add a telephone number if you have one.
- The protected work or right you are relying on, and the facts of the infringement: what the work is, who owns it, and why you believe the material on NoteKit infringes it.
- The link or electronic path to the material. Because uploads are private, you will usually not have a link. In that case, tell us everything you do know that lets us find it: the account email, the file name, the course or subject name, the document title, and how you came to know it is on NoteKit.
- A declaration that you own the right or represent its owner, and that neither you nor the owner has licensed or authorised the use you are complaining about.
- A declaration that you are sending the notice in good faith.
If you are sending the notice under United States law, also include a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf. Also include your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough). Those are the items 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3) requires. Items 1 to 4 also cover what Article 16(2) of the European Union Digital Services Act requires. We never refuse a notice that is complete under Saudi law because it lacks the United States items.
What we do when we receive a notice
When you use the form, you get a reference number on screen straight away. For a notice sent by email or post, we confirm receipt by email without undue delay.
If the notice is complete, or if it lets us find the material and the infringement is plain, we remove the material or disable access to it within 48 working hours of receiving the notice (Article 85(3) of the Implementing Regulation). We aim to do it within 48 hours. Removing material means permanently deleting the uploaded file and the study kits generated from it, including any subject-wide kit built from it.
We tell the person who uploaded it what we removed and why. We give them a copy of your notice, including your name and contact details, so that they can respond. If you do not want your details passed on, say so in your notice and we will tell you before we act.
We then tell you what we did and why, and how you can challenge our decision if you disagree with it.
If a notice is incomplete and we cannot find the material from it, we tell you what is missing rather than ignoring it.
We do not monitor uploads for infringing content, and nothing in this policy creates an obligation for us to do so.
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake
If we removed something you uploaded and you believe it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, you can send us a counter-notice. Use the counter-notice section of our notice form, or send it by email or post to the addresses above. You do not need to be signed in. Include:
- Your name, the email address of your NoteKit account, your postal address, and a telephone number if you have one.
- The notice reference from our removal email, if you have it, and a description of what was removed.
- Why you believe the removal was a mistake or the result of misidentification.
- A declaration that you are sending the counter-notice in good faith.
- Your acknowledgement that we will send your counter-notice, including your name and contact details, to the person who sent the original notice.
If you want the United States timetable described below to apply, also include three things:
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the United States Federal District Court for the district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, of any judicial district in which NoteKit may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or from that person's agent;
- your physical or electronic signature.
What happens after a counter-notice
We send your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice within 2 working days of receiving it (Article 84(3) of the Implementing Regulation).
We do not keep copies of removed files, so we cannot put a removed file back. Instead, the person who sent the original notice has 10 working days from when we forward your counter-notice to tell us they have started proceedings about it before a court or the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. If they do not, we tell you that you may upload the file again, and the removal stops counting against your account under our Repeat Infringer Policy.
The same applies on the timetable of 17 U.S.C. 512(g)(2) where your counter-notice includes the United States items above and the original notice was made under United States law. In that case the person who sent the notice has 10 business days to tell us they have filed a court action. You may upload the file again not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
We restrict, and then close, the accounts of users who infringe copyright, under our written Repeat Infringer Policy. In short:
- Each valid notice that leads us to remove material from an account counts against it for 12 months.
- A second within 12 months brings a final warning, and may bring a suspension of up to 14 days.
- A third within 12 months closes the account.
- We close an account at once where the circumstances make that plainly appropriate.
False or abusive notices
Sending a notice or a counter-notice is a serious step. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, to anyone injured by the misrepresentation. A knowingly false notice or counter-notice may also expose its sender to liability under other laws. We may refuse to act on notices from a sender who has repeatedly sent notices in bad faith.
Notices under Saudi law
NoteKit is operated from Saudi Arabia.
- The Saudi Copyright Law issued by Royal Decree No. M/169 was published on 13 February 2026 and has been in force since 12 August 2026. It deals with the position of internet content providers at Article 49.
- Its Implementing Regulation was issued by the Board of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and came into force on the same date. It sets out the notice-and-removal procedure at Articles 83 to 85.
- In line with those rules:
- this page and our notice form are the channel rights holders use to notify us;
- a notice with the five items above is complete;
- we remove or disable access to the material within 48 working hours of receiving a complete notice or of otherwise learning of the infringement, whichever comes first;
- we tell the person who sent a notice about any counter-notice within 2 working days;
- we have a written policy for restricting and closing the accounts of users found to have infringed.
You may also complain to the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property directly through its published complaint service. Sending us a notice does not affect your right to go to the competent court.
Notices from the European Union
Where the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) applies to us, this page is our notice and action mechanism under Article 16. You can submit a notice electronically through our notice form or at the email address above. We will confirm receipt without undue delay and tell you our decision. We will also tell you the ways you can seek redress against it, including through the courts of your Member State and through any out-of-court dispute settlement body certified in your Member State.
Notices from the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has no equivalent of the United States notice and takedown procedure. Under regulation 19 of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, a hosting provider is not liable for stored material where it does not have actual knowledge of unlawful activity and, once it does, acts expeditiously to remove the material or disable access to it. Sending a notice through our form or to the address above is how you give us that knowledge, and we act on it within the times set out on this page.
Our United States designated agent
Our designated agent for notices under 17 U.S.C. 512(c), registered with the United States Copyright Office (registration DMCA-1078189), is:
- Taweed Establishment, attention: Copyright Agent
- Postal address: EDDA2367, Al Hussam District, Dammam 34223, Saudi Arabia
- Email: legal@notekit.net
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, and we post the updated version here with a new date. If an update changes your rights or obligations as a NoteKit user, it applies to you only in the way described in "Changes to these terms" in our Terms of Service.

Last updated: November 1, 2026 · آخر تحديث: November 1, 2026
للتواصل: legal@notekit.net
